The business sector in Poland shrank at the beginning of the year, with a record number of closures hitting the sector over the period. 300 companies have applied for bankruptcy across the country from January to April 2012, according to the latest report by Euler Hermes, with the construction sector struggling the most. The data shows 85 of all Poland-based construction companies went bankrupt over the last four months, that revealed a 60 percent increase comparing to the same period in 2010. The result puts the construction business at the top of the troubled list with 28 percent of bankruptcies being announced in the sector this year.
