The pharmaceutical company A&D Pharma, which runs the Sensiblu drugstore chain is taking over the competing chain CityPharma, owned by Hermes Pharma. Sensiblu is currently the market leader in retail pharmacy, operating at national level about 300 units.
The group recorded total turnover of around €800 m last year.
The CityPharma acquisition is part of A&D Pharma’s expansion strategy, say company officials.
The approximately 100 CityPharma drug stores will officially enter the Sensiblu portfolio, and will go some way to consolidating its leading position.
