Romanian President Traian Basescu has announced that Victor Ponta, leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and one of the leaders of the opposition, has been designated to form a new government.
Ponta’s designation comes after Mihai Razvan Ungureanu government’s fall after 79 days in a censure motion in the Parliament.
The censure motion against the Mihai Razvan Ungureanu government and was adopted with 235 votes, four more than the necessary.
