CEZ, the Czech distributor of electricity in Central Europe has bought a pair of wind farms from Continental Wind Partners LLC (CWP) in Romania.
Located adjacently to each other near Cogealac, the two facilities combined will have a capacity of 600 MW, larger than any existing wind park currently operating in Europe.
The total cost of the project will reach €1.1bn. According to Adrian Borotea, corporate affairs director at CEZ Romania, the wind farm will be operational by the end of 2012.
