Poland’s Treasury is taking a second shot at privatizing the LOT airline, but it’s also hoping to offload LS Airport Services and Eurolot at the same time. The details on the transaction are expected to be disclosed in May, according to state officials, who say that the first bid has already been submitted. Turkish Airlines, which declared its interest in January, is considered a strong candidate, but the Treasury Ministry will be going through other proposals, according to its spokeswoman Madgalena Kobos. The Ministry currently holds 68 percent in the Polish operator, with 25.1 percent stake owned by the Regional Economic Fund (RFG). LOT closed 2011 with a loss of PLN 145.5m, up from the PLN 163m it recorded in 2010.
