The Japanese expansion in Poland continues, as the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) announces that it plans to create more jobs in the country in the near time. A total of 268 companies from Japan are currently operating in Poland, with 85 factories that employ 40,000 people. Added to this, Sumimoto, Toshiba and Toyota representatives has recently confirmed that Japanese investors are looking to increase their share in the Polish market through Keidanren organization. “A lot of of members (of Keidanren) consider new investments,” says Shinichi Yokoyama, the president of Sumitomo Life Insurance, and the head of Keidanren. “I’m considering it myself.” Polish companies are also targeting infrastructure investments. “We hope for cooperation” says Akira Hishikava, vice-president of Mitsubishi Heavy Industry.
