Czech consumer price inflation climbed to 3.8 percent y-o-y in March this year from 3.7 percent in February. Higher food and drink prices were the main factor according to the Czech Statistical office, with egg prices rocketing by 124 percent y-o-y. However, the increase in general was in line with expectations. Energy prices have increased considerably as well, with gas prices up (25.1%), electricity (4.2%) and water (12% up). On the other hand, prices for shoes, clothes and mobile phones fell.
