The present chief of Poland copper producer KGHM hopes to keep his position after Canadian Quadra company take over, despite the announcement of a tender for his job. “The Supervisory Board asked me recently if I would like to continue heading KHGM. I think it would be good if I could arrange the newly purchased Quadra,” said Herbert Wirtch, KGHM’s management board president. Many analysts seem to agree that changes to the top management of the state-owned KGHM would be ill-advised at the moment, given the political nature of its recent acquisition.
