Transport Minister Alexandru Nazare says the Sun Highway between Bucharest and Constanta will be open for traffic on June 30, with the opening ceremonies for for the Murfatlas-Medgidia and Medgidia-Cernavoda sections to be held later.
The minister claims work is on schedule, and that the contractor will be penalized for any delays.
Nazare said that the Murfatlar-Medgidia section is 78 percent ready and the Medgidia-Cernavoda section is just 22 percent prepared. He estimated that the highway between Constanta and Nadlac will be ready by 2017.
