Hungarian president caught in plagiarism scandal

29 March 2012

Pál Schmitt, Hungary’s president, has said he will not resign amidst growing anger over revelations that he plagiarized large sections of his doctoral thesis. The daily Magyar Nemzet has joined the chorus of voices calling for his resignation, but the ruling FIDESZ party does not appear to be agitating for such a change.
