PO to build majority for pension reform outside PSL?

21 March 2012

Civic Platform (PO) could be forced to look for other options to build a majority in the Polish parliament for its pension reform after its junior coalition partner refused to support the project on Tuesday. The Polish People’s Party (PSL) would not get behind plans to raise the retirement age to 67 for both men and women. The breakdown came as a surprise, forcing the cancellation of a joint press conference between PO leader Donal Tusk and deputy PM Waldemar Pawlak. The current retirement age is 65.
