PGNiG has struck out in a new direction following the appointment of Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa to the top post of Poland’s gas giant. The company’s new chairman has just announced that PGNiG will be transformed to fit a changing business environment, as Poland liberalizes its gas market. Piotrowska-Oliwa says the company will be focusing on customers from now on, rather than fighting with Poland’s Antimonopoly Office. New prices for customers will be established as a result of the changes to ensure the company’s growth in the long-term. PGNiG is also among the companies seeking new ways to extract and acquire shale gas supplies.
