The average price of imported gas in the January-June 2012 period will be by USD 493/1.000 cubic meters, up with 11.5% compared with the annual average of USD 442 in 2011, according to data released by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE).
Its estimated that gas prices will be RON 149.5/ MWh, up with 17.7% from the average of last year, when it was RON 127/ MWh.
Last year gas imports covered 25.1% of national consumption. The two main domestic producers are OMV Petrom and Romgaz.
Romania imports gas mainly from companies approved by the Russian group Gazprom.
