Changes to the master plan that would clear the way for development of the Masarykovo railway station in the central Prague is to be approved this summer, according to the City of Prague’s planning department. The railway operation will continue operating, meaning only extra land can be used for commercial purposes. The change will enable the rebuilding the Florenc bus terminal and the streets Na Florenci and Pernerova will be connected. A new park will stretch from the Museum of the City of Prague to the Vítkov hill, while Opletalova and Na Florenci streets will be connected by a subway or foot bridge. The post office building on Hybernská street will be preserved as a cultural monument.
