A new law may come from September, adding another level of regulatory oversight. The legislation, which is still just a bill going through parliament, would make the safety of any product made in Hungary the responsibility of the manufacturer. Products must not place the consumer in danger of physical harm or endanger the consumer’s health, nor can it bring financial harm to the customer. Penalties for failure to comply would range from HUF 15,000 to HUF 500m
