Romania has attracted another USD 750m from the U.S. market by reopening a 10-year bond issue launched in January, securities with a yield of 6.45%, down from 6.875% and the offer exceeded four times amount borrowed.
Subscriptions totaled $ 3.2 billion.
Securities were sold with a coupon of 6.75% and, considering first the yield is 6.45%.
The issue is due at the February 7, 2022.
The issue is reopened because there is still demand for bonds on the Romanian market and investors wanting exposure to Romania, said in a statement Finance Minister Bogdan Dragoi.
He added that the Finance Ministry is equally concerned about the financing of the domestic market, where borrowing costs have fallen lately.
The Wall Street Experts estimated that Romania will get lower interest rates to the second bond issue for the U.S. market.
In financing case from the domestic market, the yield fell on 27.02.2012 to a record low of 5.22% for the six month program.
