Marina planned in Southern Bohemia

1 March 2012

A large marina for recreational boats will be built on the river Vltava in Hluboká nad Vltavou in Southern Bohemia, writes the economic server E15. The Waterways Authority envisions a marina with a capacity for 73 tourist boats and a steamboat. The project, worth CZK 170m, should be completed in spring 2014. The marina is part of a much larger project, in which a 100 km stretch of the river between České Budějovice and the Orlík dam should be made navigable by 2015. The project, with an estimated cost of CZK 1.6bn, is focused on boosting tourism in the region.
