The race for PGE’s top job is nearly run, as the board of directors of Poland’s energy giant is expected to introduce the new management team tomorrow. Krzysztof Kilian, former Polkomtel manager is considered the most likely candidate for president, with Bogusława Matuszewska the favorite to be named vice-president. The Warsaw-based company MMA and partners has been handling the recruitment process since the previous president Tomasz Zadroga resigned. Paweł Skowroński has served since that time as the interim president but he has no guarantee of retaining his position, according to unofficial sources, despite the fact that he’s considered a good candidate for the job. Meanwhile, Puls Biznesu writes that Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa is taking a shot at landing one of the other top jobs in Poland at the head of PGNiN. “The presidency of PGNiG is an important undertaking, but Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa is known for not backing away from challenges. Since she is participating in the contest, it means that she sees herself in this role. She surely knows what she wants and meets all the criteria for the position,” writes Puls Biznesu quoting an anonymous source. She is up to against 15 candidates, however, she has made no comment on the matter.
