Palmer Capital took over Middle Europe Investments, a Dutch based fund manager with €232m of assets under management. The majority of the MEI portfolio is commercial real estate located across the Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Romania and Russian markets. MEI manages nine funds for Dutch investors focused on the CEE region. These funds will be incorporated into Palmer capital, providing Palmer Capital with a substantially expanded European platform, increasing the present network of Palmer Capital offices in Germany and Czech Republic to include Holland, Russia, Bulgaria and Romania and emphasizing Palmer Capital’s in-depth coverage of CEE. “The acquisition opens new funding sources for us in the important Dutch market, gives us real depth in the fast-growing economies of CEE and brings some more very high-quality people into our team – it is an excellent fit for us and, we trust, for MEI,” says Guy Barker, Managing Director Europe for Palmer Capital.
