The Ministry of Treasury has sold 7 percent of its PGE, Poland’s largest power utility company yesterday, according to the Parkiet.pl. The shares went primarily to institutional investors, causing prices to slump, but this was followed by a rebound today. PGE’s 7 percent stake was sold at a price of PLN 19.27 per share, sending a welcome PLN 2.5bn in the state coffers. In June 2011, the state also took in PLN 2.5bn when it sold off the mining company Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa to private investors.
