Poland to set new record for foreign holiday sales this year

11 July 2024

As the cost of holidaying in Poland continues to rise, travel agency Click&Go forecasts another record-breaking year for foreign holiday sales.

“This year, our office has seen a sales increase of more than 110%, with an estimated 25% growth across the sector. The rising cost of domestic holidays is driving demand for foreign tours. It’s simply cheaper to vacation in Malta, Cyprus, or Bulgaria than in Poland, and you’re guaranteed sunny weather there. I am confident that this year Poland will set another record in foreign holiday sales,” said Michał Głowa, Click&Go’s director for Poland.

The company cites several factors behind the increased interest in foreign holidays: a strong zloty, wage growth surpassing the inflation rate, and higher prices for products and services in Poland.

Due to the high demand, Click&Go has increased its workforce by 40%. Additionally, airlines, particularly low-cost carriers, are expanding their offerings by introducing regular flights to new destinations. This year, for instance, low-cost airlines have added more flights to destinations like Sunny Beach and Tenerife. Some airports now offer flights to Tenerife four times a week, enabling flexible holiday durations. Agencies like Click&Go, which provide holidays to new destinations, are benefiting from this expanded network. While most Poles opt for 7-10 night holidays in the summer, shorter four-day trips are also becoming popular. These trips, once typically city breaks, now often include destinations such as Malta, Cyprus, and Greece.
