The sale of the Harmony Club hotel in Špindlerův Mlýn, owned by Václav Junek, the former head of the chemical conglomerate Chemapol Group, is nearing completion. Investor Tomáš Otruba is interested in the hotel, Deník N reported yesterday, citing a spokesman for Otruba’s company, Daniel Mádr. According to Deník N, this is one of the biggest transactions on the real estate market this year, with an estimated value of over half a billion crowns.

“We are interested in the Harmony hotel,” Mádr was quoted by Deník N as saying. According to Mádra’s statement, Otrub’s company Nordic Investors Group has signed an exclusivity agreement to continue negotiations with the owners of the Harmony Club Hotel, which was already up for sale at the end of last year. In April this year, Otruba founded a new company under his Nordic Investors Group, Harmony Špindlerův Mlýn, where he is a member of the management board, Deník N reported.

“We believe the transaction will take place within days. We are convinced that the hotel will continue to be in good hands,” Zdenka Klapalová, a representative of the Knight Frank consultancy, told Deník N, without saying who the new owner would be. According to Deník N, Šárka Junková, the sister-in-law of the former Chemapol boss, is now listed as the owner of the Harmony Hotel.

The information about Otrub was reported by motejlekskocdopole.com. Otruba owns the Grand Hotel Hradec in Pec pod Sněžkou and also owns the Omnia hotel in Jánské Lázně. He is the new partner of the richest Czech woman, Renata Kellnerová, who owns PPF Group with her family.

The Harmony Hotel, which was built at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, offers four-star accommodation and wellness, as well as facilities for congresses, conferences, training sessions, meetings and other social gatherings. It is also known for its extensive underground fallout shelter, which was to house the general staff of the then Czechoslovak army in the event of a nuclear war.
