External consulting companies will help with the selection of a concessionaire for the construction of a part of the railway link from Prague to Václav Havel Airport in the form of a so-called PPP project, i.e. in cooperation with private capital. Deloitte, Česká spořitelna, the law firm Císař, Češka, Smutný or AFRY and their nominated experts in economic, financial, legal and technical consulting from the Czech Republic and abroad won the tender for the consultancy, the Railway Administration (SŽ) announced this yesterdayday.
“I believe that the international background of the selected consulting team will lead to the successful implementation of the first railway PPP project in the Czech Republic,” said Jiří Svoboda, Director General of the Railway Administration.
The government approved the public-private cooperation in the modernisation of selected railway lines last August. These include the railway connection from Prague to Kladno with a branch line to Václav Havel Airport. According to earlier information, the line from the capital to the airport should start running in 2028, at an estimated cost of CZK 40 billion.
