Powerdot has closed another round of financing, under which it will receive EUR 100 million for the development of electric car charging infrastructure in Europe, the company said. A significant part of this amount will go to Poland, where the total value of the investment by the end of 2025 will amount to PLN 200 million.
The capital will be allocated to the construction of a high-power Powerdot network throughout Poland, as well as the development of technologies revolutionizing the use of the charging service, including modern payments, it was announced.
The funds raised come from the French infrastructure fund Antin, listed on the Paris stock exchange, which has already recapitalized Powerdot with EUR 150 million, as well as from the Portuguese group Arie. With further funding rounds, Powerdot is increasing its investments in Europe, with a total value of EUR 260 million at the end of next year.
“Taking into account the already implemented and started investments, Powerdot will allocate a total of PLN 200 million to the development of infrastructure in Poland by the end of 2025,” said Grigoryy Grigoriev, CEO of Powerdot in Poland.
Powerdot is under construction of 600 charging stations at Biedronka stores throughout the country, with a capacity of 120 kW each. The company also creates infrastructure for numerous parks and shopping malls located in various parts of Poland. It also implements investments for franchisees of such retail brands as Intermarche, Spar, Auchan or E.Leclerc.
“Poland is one of the most important markets for Powerdot, due to its size, economic potential, as well as the relatively early stage of the development of electromobility,” added Grigoriev.
Of the 153 charging points in total commissioned in Poland in January this year, about half of them are Powerdot stations, which means that the company is currently one of the most active investors in Poland.
The value of projects implemented in Poland is greater than the Powerdot investment in Spain, Portugal or Belgium, seconded only to the French market in terms of size. Powerdot has launched 5,000 charging points across Europe and is underway another 10,000.
Powerdot is a pan-European operator and investor in charging stations with Portuguese roots. It operates in six European countries, where it currently has 5,000 charging points for electric cars and is under construction of another 10,000. In Poland, Powerdot has launched 250 points and is underway for 1,500 more.
