15 February 2024

The largest e-commerce platform provider in the Czech Republic is moving to Port7, Skanska’s new project on the Holešovice riverbank. Svoboda & Williams’ commercial leasing team has negotiated a lease of 4,300 sqm in the Edinburgh building. In total, the entire Holešovice waterfront project is now 63% leased.

As one of the most successful Czech start-ups, Shoptet was looking for premium offices in a unique environment with an emphasis on community atmosphere. Port7 meets these needs with its riverside park location and regular cultural events for tenants, local residents and visitors.

Shoptet will become part of the Port7 community and will occupy 4,300 sqm in the Edinburgh building. Overall, the latest project on the Holešovice waterfront is now 63% leased. Shoptet is the largest Czech e-commerce solutions provider, currently operating 37,487 e-shops. This represents a third of all online shops operating on the Czech and Slovak markets with an annual turnover of CZK 59 billion and 3.5 million customers per year. With its emphasis on community and excellent customer care, Shoptet fits naturally into the vibrant, dynamic, and community-oriented environment of Port7.

“For us, Port 7 is a symbol of the new era of Shoptet. We are growing fast, and we were looking for new offices that meet our requirements. We are a modern and progressive company, and we expect the same from our offices. We want our employees to feel comfortable and motivated in the new premises and for the offices and their surroundings to meet the latest standards not only for work but also for relaxation,” says Samuel Huba, CEO of Shoptet.

Port7 transformed a former neglected brownfield into a lively Vltava waterfront. It provides space for both work and leisure activities and is connected to the metro and train station Nádraží Holešovice by a pedestrian underpass. Since its official opening in September 2023, Port7 has offered to the Holešovice neighborhood a newly built 17,000 sqm park and a new Vltava promenade, with regular program for the public. Events such as movie screenings or Christmas market have broughtattention to Port7 in fall 2023, and more and more people are becoming familiar with this beautiful new destination in Prague Holešovice

“We are extremely pleased to welcome the company with such a resonant name as Shoptet to our project. The cooperation has been very pleasant also because we share the same values and appreciate the qualities that Port7 has to offer. I believe that the new office will become a joyful and inspiring place for Shoptet where the company will thrive. We look forward to writing an exciting new future of the area together,” says Iva Vařechová, Leasing Manager for Skanska’s Commercial Development business unit in the Czech Republic.

“The new generous offices will offer the client exceptional views of the river and will also feature two private and three shared terraces. They have also been attracted by the possibility of renting event space within the project. These were all reasons that convinced the client to relocate,” concludes the parameters of the deal Petra Schinkmannová, Senior Consultant Svoboda & Williams, who exclusively represented Shoptet in the transaction.
