U.S. tyre manufacturer Goodyear has expanded the production capacity of its Slovenian factory by 25 percent. The project involved the installation of new machines at the Kranj factory that lasted for about five months and made possible the production of 20-inch replacement tyres for passenger vehicles.
“The advanced machines that we installed as part of the expansion project allow us to produce larger and more demanding tires that must provide drivers with the expected performance. They are in demand by buyers of larger and luxury cars, as well as electric and sport utility vehicles,” production director Matjaz Mali said.
Working with new machines has reduced the intensity of physical work, and the necessary level of technical knowledge that employees need to manage advanced technologies has increased, Goodyear Slovenia noted.
