Orlen operated Poland’s largest network of 1,916 gas stations at the end of September 2023 (unchanged from data at the end of August); bp was second with 574 stations (-2 m/m), and MOL was third with 487 stations (bz m/m), according to data compiled by ISBnews. In total, the six largest operators in Poland, which also include Shell, Moya and Circle K, managed a network of 4,271 stations.
The ranking of Poland’s largest gas station chains at the end of September 2023 is as follows:
1. orlen – 1,916 stations (bz m/m)
2. bp – 574 (-2 m/m)
3. mOL – 487 (bz m/m)
4. Shell – 458 (bz m/m)
5. moya – 429 (+12 m/m)
6. Circle K – 407 (+1 m/m)
In total, the six largest operators had 4,271 stations, which accounted for about 53.9% of all fuel stations in Poland (compared to 7,919 outlets at the end of H1 2023, according to the Polish Organization of Oil Industry and Trade – POPiHN).
In September, by far the fastest growing chain was Moya, which expanded by 12 outlets. The Circle K chain also grew by 1 station. In contrast, the bp network shrank by 2 stations. The ownership of Orlen, MOL and Shell remained unchanged.
Cumulatively after nine months of 2023, Moya’s network expanded by 28 outlets, Circle K by 14 stations, Shell by 5 stations, and bp by 1 outlet. Orlen’s network decreased by 4 stations compared to the end of 2022, and MOL’s network by 10 facilities.
The price of E95 gasoline in Poland was 74% of the EU average at the end of September this year. 74% of the average European price, while the price of diesel fuel was also 74% of the European average.
The selling price of 1,000 liters of E95 gasoline in Poland at the end of September was EUR 1,292.2, while diesel was EUR 1,298.6, the statement said.
