Ioana Carmen and Cornel Petruț Ion, business partners of Alin Niculae, the owner of Oscar Downstream, have teamed up with investor Cosmin Țîrvuloiu and are working on the development of a major residential project on the site of the former Apromatco wholesaler, near the Plaza România mall in the capital. The investors own a 16,217 sqm plot of land, covered with 11 industrial and building constructions, on which the Apromatco wholesaler used to operate.
They have recently received authorisation to demolish the buildings on this land and have been approved a Detailed Urban Plan which foresees the construction of buildings between 5 and 9 floors high.
The documentation specifies that the buildings will house the headquarters of extraterritorial bodies. These bodies could be diplomatic and consular missions or offices of international organisations such as the UN, IMF or World Bank. However, the architectural illustrations attached to the documentation show apartment buildings.
Sources close to the project’s developers say it will be a mixed residential and commercial project and that the plan is to start construction in 2025.
