Imperial Brands is developing a global service centre in Krakow – part of a global operating model responsible for the group’s financial operations. 100 people have found work there, and the centre will eventually employ 500 people, the company reported. For the Imperial Brands Group, Poland is a strategic market in which it sees great opportunities for development, it stressed.
The Kraków-based global business services (GBS) centre is one of the elements of the company’s global strategy and its transformation, as well as the group’s fourth investment in Poland. Currently, there are two of the manufacturer’s factories in the country – in Tarnow Podgórny near Poznan and in Radom, as well as a global supply chain centre in Warsaw. The Kraków GBS integrates tasks from four areas: finance, purchasing, IT and data analysis, it stated.
“Our vision is to create a true centre of competence bringing together a team of experts with expertise in different areas such as finance, IT and data analysis. As our company transforms, we are shaping new ways of working, implementing and adapting new technologies, while upgrading skills, all with the aim of improving data accuracy, service quality and increasing efficiency across the organisation. We already employ more than 100 talented experts at the Krakow centre and are constantly expanding. Ultimately, as many as 500 people will find work in our service centre,” said Imperial Brands global business services director Edwin Bennaars.
Headquartered in Bristol, UK, Imperial Brands is one of the largest tobacco manufacturers in the world.
