Romanian rents continue to rise

2 August 2023

Apartment rents continue to rise in Romania. The differences compared to last year are between 8 percent in Timisoara and 22 percent in Constanţa, according to Imobiliare.ro.
Timisoara remains the most affordable city, while the most expensive can be found in the capital and Cluj-Napoca. The average rent for two-room apartments ranges from EUR 350 to EUR 480, according to Imobiliare.ro data.
“Rents continue to rise, including in the summer months when the specific seasonality of this segment should imply lower demands. However, inflation and tax changes put pressure on prices, and in September we expect significant increases. If in Timisoara, the price differences are between 8 percent and 10 percent, in Constanţa they exceed 20 percent in all segments,” said Daniel Crainic, Imobiliare.ro marketing director.
