BNP Paribas BP has reached 1,592 settlements with CHF borrowers by the end of March 2023

BNP Paribas Bank Polska has reached 1,592 settlements with franc borrowers by the end of March 2023, the bank said.

Since December 2021, the bank has been conducting individual negotiations with customers with whom it is in dispute or for whom there is a reasonable risk of entering into a dispute.

* 2,793 accepted negotiation proposals,

* 1,592 concluded settlements,” – reads the result presentation.

In Q1 of this year, the bank received 678 new lawsuits (compared to 402 in Q4 2022), with 139 cases completed in Q1.

“Of the 488 legally completed proceedings: 348 ended unfavorably for the bank, 140 ended favorably for the bank, including 25 cases in which customer lawsuits were dismissed, while in the remaining cases the proceedings were discontinued as a result of a settlement agreement.” – It reads further.

The CHF loan portfolio provision amounted to PLN 2,003 million at the end of Q1 this year, compared to PLN 1,892 million a quarter earlier and PLN 1,365 million a year earlier. The CHF portfolio’s provision coverage ratio was, respectively: 52.4% vs. 46.2% and 30.6%.
