After 26 years since entering Romania, Sphera Franchise Group, the holding company that owns the company that administers the local franchise system of the KFC brand, reached 100 restaurants nationwide, following investments of approximately EUR 60 million. The company has opened an average of seven KFC restaurants per year over the past five years.
However, the company is facing an acute labor shortage, which is why it will continue to hire mainly from SriLanka.
For this year, the company plans to open eight KFC and two Taco Bell restaurants, for which it will invest around EUR 6.8 million. In addition, the company continues the process of remodeling older KFC restaurants, having budgeted EUR 3.8 million for the modernization of 30 units.
