Prague to sell hall with land in spa town Toušeň for CZK 32 million

4 April 2023

The Prague City Hall plans to sell a hall with land in the Central Bohemian spa town of Toušeň for CZK 32 million. The city council approved the sale yesterday, while the city councillors will vote on the sale. According to the councillor for property Adam Zábranský (Pirates), this is surplus property that the town does not need and there is no reason to keep it.

The city has announced a tender for the sale of the property in the township, located northeast of Prague, and three bidders have applied. “It is a hall that is currently rented for CZK 200,000 a year,” Zábranský said. He added that he considers the sale for an amount equivalent to 150 annual rents to be advantageous for the city.

Zábranský recently said that he plans to create an inventory of the city’s property located outside the metropolitan area. Some of the buildings could be sold, and the future of a building in Skryi in the Rakovník region or a castle in Svojšice in the Kolín region is currently being discussed. Municipal buildings outside Prague are used for recreation or for outdoor schools, but also as social institutions or homes for the elderly.
