Drivers of electric vehicles consumed 146,358 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity at ČEZ stands in South Bohemia last year. This was 48 percent more year-on-year. This is mainly due to the increasing number of electric vehicles, of which several thousand were added across the country last year, announced Marek Sviták, spokesman for the Temelín nuclear power plant.

ČEZ operates 20 public charging stations in the South Bohemian Region, most of them fast-charging stations. They are in České Budějovice, Jindřichův Hradec, Písek, Prachatice, Soběslav, Třeboň, Vimperk, Lipno nad Vltavou and Horní Plané. The 50 kW fast charging station can replenish most of the battery capacity in less than ten minutes. Standard 22 kW stations recharge cars in a few hours. Last year, people most often recharged their electric cars on stands at Kaufland stores in České Budějovice and Třeboň. In total, customers stopped at Supina ČEZ stands in South Bohemia in 8,597 cases last year. On average, they drew 17 kWh of electricity per recharge.

CEZ operates over 530 public charging stands across the country. Last year alone, it opened 130 new ones. All of them offer zero-emission renewable energy. It wants to reach the 800 operating stands mark by 2025 and more than quadruple the current network capacity by 2030.

“This year, we are targeting a growth of more than 20 per cent again and significantly exceeding the five million kWh loaded mark. This should also be achieved by accelerating the construction of ultra-rapid racks, of which we will commission around 40. These stations, supplemented by standard 50kW racks in individual locations, guarantee that charging and waiting times will be significantly reduced,” said Tomáš Dzurilla, CEZ Director of Electromobility.
