Nearly two-thirds of companies (66%) said they would cope with rising fuel and energy prices by raising prices of products or services for consumers in 2023, according to a survey by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE).
The companies’ plans for 2023 are also a response to the significant increase in prices of energy carriers in 2022. According to the PIE survey, the energy shock is reflected in both the measures already taken and those planned for 2023. 66% of the companies surveyed said they would cope with rising fuel and energy prices by increasing prices for products or services to customers in 2023, PIE Economic Weekly reported.
In second place in terms of declarations (58%) are plans to reduce the company’s overall operating costs. Nearly half of companies say they will seek cheaper raw materials, materials and services from suppliers. 38% of companies will put planned investments on hold, it was also reported.
