E-banking: The President signed into law a bill on an ICT system for handling certain contracts, which aims to prepare a system to facilitate the drafting of employment contracts, assignment contracts and activation contracts, the President’s Office reported.
E-banking: The number of individual customers with access to online banking reached more than 41.45 million at the end of Q3 2022 (up 7.02% y/y and 1.49% q/q). The number of active customers amounted to 21.89 million (up 5.05% y/y and 1.1% q/q), the Polish Bank Association (ZBP) said in its NetB@nk report.
E-commerce: Both the e-commerce and courier industries are seeing a high annual jump in arrears, with e-commerce up 18% to more than PLN 342 million and couriers up 11% to PLN 73.5 million, according to data entered in BIG InfoMonitor’s Debtor Register and BIK’s credit information database.
E-commerce: The share of online sales in retail sales (current prices) rose to 11.9% in November 2022 from 9.5% a month ago, according to the Central Statistical Office (CSO). The value of online sales rose 25.2% on a monthly basis.
E-commerce: 69% of Poles make international purchases electronically, according to the latest PayPal eCommerce Index. At the same time, 33% of Polish sellers’ turnover this year was generated by foreign online orders.
5G: The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has launched a consultation on an auction for four frequency reservations in the 3480-3800 MHz band, which will last until January 31, 2023, said Office President Jacek Oko. The starting price for each band is 450 million zlotys, and the auction is scheduled to end in August 2023.
E-government: the Council of Ministers’ Committee on Digitization has approved a draft on the mCitizen application, putting e-documents on a par with traditional ones, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Adam Andruszkiewicz announced. The draft is expected to be adopted by the government in the first half of 2023.
Trade: According to Zymetria, one in two people don’t mind receiving a used item as a gift. 57% of people said the passing year was rather or definitely worse financially, and only 12% of us view it positively; as many as ¾ of the public decide to limit Christmas spending; mostly we want to spend between PLN 300 and 500 (24%) on Christmas gifts; 45% of us planned Christmas electronics shopping for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and only one in five didn’t want to take advantage of such an opportunity; 40% of Poles would like to receive a refurbished smartphone under the Christmas tree; 30% of people would be willing to buy a used item for a gift, and one in two people surveyed doesn’t mind receiving such a gift, Digital Care reported.
