24 October 2022

Krnov Town Hall in Bruntál Region has started offering the first plots for the construction of family houses in the Kabátův kopec location in Ježnická Street. A total of 31 new houses should be built in the area of the former military area in the future. There are currently eight plots of land on offer. City spokeswoman Dita Círová said at the weekend. According to her, the current offer includes plots with an area of 890 to 1,200 square meters and a value of 1.8 to 2.3 million crowns. Interested parties can submit offers until the end of October.

The city has been preparing the site on Kabátova kopča, where the Soviet army trained in the past, for the construction of family homes for a long time. Last year, for example, during a survey, pyrotechnicians found practice and used ammunition there. This year, the demolition of dilapidated buildings began. The deputies approved a financial sum of CZK 44 million for their removal. In addition to the garages and other above-ground buildings in the area, the steel tanks found during the pyrotechnic survey, the access ramp at the steel garages and the sedimentation tanks in front of the entrance to the area were also slated for demolition.

More than 30 plots for the individual construction of family houses are to be created on Kabátova kopča. Another 18 building plots will be created in Petrovická Street, in the locality in the direction of the border beyond the river on the right side behind the apartment buildings. The Convention of Minorities in Krnov requested the return of the area as part of church restitution, but the Supreme Court decided last year that the city of Krnov would remain its owner.
