The Knauf group plans cumulative investments of over EUR 200 million. The company will develop two factories in Romania, in the counties of Mureş and Cluj, where it will produce insulation materials, plasterboard and metal profiles. Together, the two factories will employ over 200 people.
“It is the first time that Knauf builds two factories at the same time in the same country”, said Todor Delovski, regional director at Knauf Gips. Investments of such a magnitude, reaching or exceeding the threshold of EUR 200 million, are few in Romania, especially in the field of construction.
The insulation market, on which the group operates, has had an upward trend in the last two to three years, reaching a situation where demand is higher than supply. Thus, from year to year, the market of thermal insulation materials increases by approximately 5 percent.
