The number of apartments whose construction began in July this year. dropped by 37% y / y and amounted to 16 277, and in monthly terms it fell by 32.2%, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.
In the group of developers, there was a decrease in the number of flats under construction – by 44.1% y / y to 8,359 units, and a decrease of 46.6% on a monthly basis, the Office also reported.
From the beginning of the year to the end of July 2022, the construction of 136,000 apartments was started, i.e. 20.2% less than the year before. Developers started the construction of 79,900 apartments (22.1% less), and individual investors 54,000 (by 16.6% less). The total share of these forms of construction amounted to 98.5% of the total number of flats. In the remaining forms of construction, the construction of 2,091 flats was started (against 3,028 in the previous year), it was announced.
It is estimated that at the end of July 2022, 880,300 sqm were under construction. dwellings, i.e. 0.7% more than in the corresponding month of 2021, also reported by the Central Statistical Office.
