The new Rohlig Suus Logistics warehouse with an area of 12,600 sqm, begins full operational activity from August 1, 2022. The branch consists of three modules: a logistics part, a transshipment terminal and an extensive administrative space of almost 1,000 sqm. Currently, the Polish logistics operator is trying to obtain BREEAM certification – which proves that the project was built in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and that it is a building that is friendly to employees and the natural environment. The facility includes, among others photovoltaic installation, sockets for charging electric passenger cars, LED lighting with an intelligent control system (DALI), as well as a network of skylights. Additionally, the warehouse has a roof deflection monitoring system and a façade reflecting the sun’s rays.
“For several years, we have been observing a rapid increase in the importance of the region, which also translates into an increasing demand for professional logistics services. Over the past three years, we have recorded an increase of 20%. sales of logistics products. In the previous two years, the pandemic slowed down the dynamic development of this segment, but today we are recording significant increases in both contract logistics and domestic transport,” says Adam Galek, board member of Rohlig Suus Logistics. “New warehouse at ul. Wojska Polskiego 66 will not only double our operational capabilities in this location, but also support the development of existing customers,” he adds.
For several years, Bydgoszcz has been perceived internationally as an investment-friendly place. This year, once again the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship is on the so-called shortlisted in the category of the most dynamically developing cities in Poland in the CEE Business Services Awards 2022 competition. The potential of the city is also noticed by Rohlig Suus Logistics, which has been operating in the region for 15 years.
Bydgoszcz is located in an attractive communication point, with extensive roads connecting the city both with the ports in Gdańsk and Gdynia, as well as with large business centers such as Warsaw and Berlin. This location makes the city an important point on the intermodal transport map.
“In Bydgoszcz, we focus primarily on contract logistics, groupage and full truckload transport (domestic and international), as well as handling non-standard shipments for e-commerce. The new warehouse will support companies, among others from the electronics and plastics industries. We also count on cooperation with enterprises from the agro, construction and furniture industries that are growing in the region,” says Jarosław Sala, director of the Rohlig Suus Logistics branch in Bydgoszcz. “Importantly, thinking about the current needs of drivers, we pay a lot of attention to the so-called corridor, i.e. optimal route planning. Thanks to this, drivers serving domestic and international routes can choose the corridors on which they want to travel and return home, even every two days,” adds Jarosław Sala.
The new Rohlig Suus Logistics facility in Bydgoszcz is also equipped with administrative space arranged according to the latest logistics operator standard. “In the new branches, we pay a lot of attention to work ergonomics and adapting the space to the real needs of employees. Thanks to this, we not only provide our staff with more comfortable conditions, but also contribute to the improvement of the functioning of the entire branch,” says Jarosław Sala, director of the Rohlig Suus Logistics branch in Bydgoszcz.
