19 July 2022

The Skanska company recorded an important milestone in the form of the completion of the supporting reinforced concrete structure of Port7. After 16 months, the construction of the building reached the top floor, using 31,000 m3 of concrete and 4,100 tons of steel reinforcement. The Port7 multipurpose project will transform a former industrial zone near the Troja Bridge and offer more than 35,800 sqm of office and retail space.

Completion of Port7 is planned for the second quarter of 2023. Almost a third of the building is already leased.

The development company Skanska has reached a significant milestone in the Port7 project. Professional workers managed to complete the reinforced concrete supporting structure in less than 400 days. They placed 31,000 m3 of concrete and used 4,100 tons of reinforcement.

“We have completed the entire supporting structure, including the tallest building with 10 floors above ground. The project also has two underground floors, which are mainly intended for parking. During construction, we used four tower cranes and around 150 workers, mainly carpenters and ironworkers, participated in the work,” explains Jan Hes, Port7 project manager.

Upon completion, Port7 will offer more than 35,800 sqm of leasable space in three buildings, mainly offices and retail space on the ground floor.

Construction work will now continue with the installation of the facade, which will give the buildings their characteristic modern look. The overall architectural concept of the area was designed by the DAM.Architekti studio.

Skanska continues to work on the construction of a waterproof roof covering on the roofs and terraces of the buildings. At the same time, the installation of technological installations, elevators, plasterboard constructions and the realization of cast and double floors continue in the interiors.

“Simultaneously with the completion of the shell & core phase, Port7 is preparing for the first fit-outs, which will be created according to the wishes and requirements of our tenants,” adds Hes.

The new public space full of greenery and excellent offices has already attracted the first tenants of the project. The Prague Eye Center clinic will use 1,600 sqm on the ground floor of the ‘Edinburgh’ building. The Direct group providing financial and insurance services has leased the entire ‘Alexandria’ building with an area of 4,200 sqm including retail space. Scott.Weber Workspace, a provider of flexible office and coworking spaces, has signed a deal for 3,800 sqm in the ‘Edinburgh’ building.

Skanska emphasizes sustainability as well as the health of its tenants. Therefore, Port7 strives to obtain the LEED Platinum, WELL Platinum and WELL Health-Safety Rating certificates, which is based on the need to protect the health of tenants and visitors in the post-pandemic era.

“Port7 will be exceptional with a large public space, a park and a promenade along the river. In addition, tenants and visitors will also have access to a range of shops and services in the piazza between the buildings. We believe that this will make Port7 not only a great environment to work in, but also a place to spend time with friends,” concludes Hes.
