Desenio Group, a Swedish digital company and online providers of wall art, has leased nearly 18,500 sqm in the CTPark Bor industrial logistics complex. CTP created the distribution center by completely redeveloping space originally intended for a large food processing operation. The redevelopment took eight months.
The Swedish Desenio Group is based in Stockholm and until now has served the entire European continent from a distribution centre located in Sweden. In order to grow further, the Group needed to streamline its logistics and distribution channels. It therefore decided to open a second distribution centre closer to customers outside the Nordic region. From several locations, the Group chose CTPark Bor as the best option.
“We are proud to have been able to make this project with Desenio Group a reality. It is a company with which we share common values such as a focus on quality, design and sustainability. We took great care in the complete redevelopment of the space originally intended for another operation. We wanted to ensure that the highly modern distribution centre would bring the Desenio Group a simplification of warehousing and logistics processes and contribute to greater distribution efficiency to the entire European market,” emphasised Jakub Kodr, Head of Business Development at CTP.
CTP embarked on the reconstruction of a hall originally intended for a specialized food processing plant that was to produce 200,000 meals a day. The building had a number of specifics, including the second-floor construction with an additional 13,000 sqm. With years of experiences in adapting industrial spaces to meet the needs of customers, CTP was able to complete the developer’s conversion in eight months, even in covid times with many limitations.
CTPark Bor is strategically located in Western Bohemia, 50 km from Pilsen city centre, with excellent highway connectivity and only 15 km from the German border. The routes and important trade paths lead through not only Germany, but even further, to Italy. It is an ideal location for logistics providers in e-commerce serving the Czech, German and other European markets.
“Every home, business, public space or establishment can be transformed into a gallery. We are here to contribute to this transformation as a market leader. The newly completed logistics centre in Bor near Tachov, a region in the heart of Europe, will not only bring savings in operating costs in the long term, but also shorten delivery times for our customers in exposed markets and, last but not least, provide room for further expansion. In cooperation with our partners and with the contribution of the entire Desenio team, we have come a long way, but the biggest milestones are yet to come,” added Ondřej Skalický, Site Manager at Desenio.
The Desenio Group, backed by investment company Verdane, wants to make designer and wall art accessible to all. The Desenio Group offers its customers a range of approximately 9,000 posters, frames and other accessories in 35 countries. Among the products, one can find unique prints created by their own design studio, as well as popular posters by renowned artists and photographers. Last year, the Group had 3.6 million active customers. The Desenio Group doesn’t only focus on expansion in the pan-European market, it is also targeting North America and Asia. Up to 75 percent of revenue comes outside of Scandinavia.
