Goldman Sachs raised its forecasts for the average price of electric car batteries for 2022-2025 by 8-26% and expects the price peak to be reached in 2023, the bank said.
Goldman Sachs experts increased their average battery price in 2022 by 18%, in 2023 by 26%, in 2024 by 15% and in 2025 by 8%.
This means that the price peak will be reached in 2023, with a price of $ 164 / kWh, compared to $ 133 / kWh in 2021, then the price will drop to $ 114 / kWh in 2025.
This is due to the fact that higher battery raw material prices will offset about 40% of the price decrease resulting from the development of battery technology and chemistry in 2020-2025. However, innovations in battery technology and more efficient production should drive prices down further in the long term, announced Goldman Sachs.
