According to 43% of enterprises, the war in Ukraine will negatively affect their operations in the next three months, according to a survey commissioned by the Lewiatan Confederation, conducted by CBM Indicator. Among those who report such concerns, almost 80% are primarily afraid of an increase in operating costs.
31% of entrepreneurs are convinced that the war will bring negative effects, but they will not be very much felt in their companies. 26% do not foresee major consequences. Small and medium-sized companies (43%) are particularly worried about the effects of the war, and to a lesser extent large (40%) companies, the report said.
The vast majority of entrepreneurs, 79% of those who are afraid of the negative impact of the war in Ukraine on their companies, believe that it will manifest itself in the form of an increase in operating costs (higher raw material prices, currency exchange rate fluctuations). The fear of high costs of doing business concerns most small companies (81%) and medium-sized (78%). Large companies look to the future more calmly, but 73% of them are also afraid of a significant increase in operating costs, according to the report.
Enterprises (10%) also indicate the lack of trade exchange with Russia. In the case of large companies, this percentage is 21%, for medium-sized companies – 13%, and for small companies – 8%. In turn, the limitation of trade with Ukraine is pointed out by 7% of companies, including 8% of small, 6% of large and 5% of medium-sized companies.
Companies are the least afraid of the lack of employees (3%).
The cyclical survey of entrepreneurs’ sentiment was carried out in April this year by the “Business Index” on a representative sample of entrepreneurs by CBM Indicator at the request of the Lewiatan Confederation.
