Dacia and Ford close the first quarter with record increases

13 April 2022

The Dacia and Ford plants produced more than 136,000 cars in the first three months of this year, up 16 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Constructors’ Association of Automobiles in Romania.

In March, production rose to over 57,000 cars, an increase of 42 percent compared to March 2021. Of these, almost 35,000 were assembled at Dacia, an increase of 44 percent and almost 22,300 units at the Ford plant in Craiova, up 40 percent.

If in 2020 the plants lost almost two months of production due to the epidemic, in 2021 they lost a similar time because they did not have the necessary components.
