Romanian construction material producers are investing in factories close to home

7 April 2022

Supply difficulties, supply chain disruptions, rising transport costs have led local construction material companies to consider investing in new factories in Romania or nearby, in order to have the raw materials and the necessary goods at hand.

Cemacon, Daw Benţa, Elis Pavaje, Florea Grup, Soceram are some of the companies that have chosen to invest in new production units, announcing in recent months that they will put new factories and new production lines on the local market.

“Given that transportation costs are an important part of the final value of goods, it is important to be close to our customers. The factory in Arad will serve the counties in the west of the country “, says Emil Goţa, general manager of Elis Pavaje, who invests EUR 20 million in the fifth factory of the group.
