More than 6,000 building permits for residential buildings were issued in the first two months of the year, up 5.9 percent compared to the similar period last year, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics.
Increases were registered in the following development regions: North-West (+150 permits), Center (+107), South-West Oltenia (+70), North-East (+64), Bucharest-Ilfov (+42) and Southeast (+36). Decreases were recorded in the West (-81 permits) and South-Muntenia (-49) development regions.
In February 2022, 540 building permits were issued for non-residential buildings (+ 37.4 percent), with a total usable area of 429,796 sqm (+ 74.3 percent).
