The development company Ekospol plans to build up to 2,621 flats in 12 blocks of flats on the site of the current industrial complex between Prague’s Zličín and the Řepy housing estate. This follows from the published environmental impact assessment (EIA) documentation. According to Ekospol, the company would like to start construction next year and complete the last apartments in 2032.
The large plot of land is located at the Prague-Zličín train station and now, according to the documentation, there are storage spaces, small establishments, car parks, building materials and the like. The company plans to demolish the existing buildings and build a residential area in its place. “The area is project-wise divided into individual city blocks, which thus continue the tradition of Prague’s block districts – Vinohrady, Holešovice, Vršovice, Smíchov,” the company stated.
Ekospol wants to carry out the construction in nine stages, the first of which, with the planned 347 flats for 746 inhabitants, the company would like to start next year, according to the documentation. According to earlier information, this is the largest residential project by Ekospol to date.
The axis of the new development is to be the planned extension of the tram line from the Řepy housing estate to Zličín. Along the future line, the investor plans commercial premises and the tallest buildings with 12 floors. Towards the edges of the brownfield, the development is to be reduced to the level of four floors.
The new development is to be connected to the current Sídliště Řepy tram stop by a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists leading over the railway. “The division of the territory includes areas for kindergarten and primary school,”the company stated. The total number of parking spaces in the residential complex should be 2248.
