Cost of services for helping Ukrainians will amount to PLN 2.4 billion

Expenditure related to cash benefits due to providing accommodation and meals to Ukrainian citizens will amount to PLN 2,400 million, according to the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) of the regulation of the Council of Ministers on this matter.

The ordinance on the maximum amount of the cash benefit due to providing accommodation and meals to Ukrainian citizens and the conditions for granting this benefit and extending its payment was published in the Journal of Laws; entered into force today.

The regulation specifies the maximum amount of the benefit granted for the provision of accommodation and meals for Ukrainian citizens at PLN 40 per person per day and provides for the possibility of increasing the amount of the benefit by the voivode in the event of:

1) providing accommodation and meals to Ukrainian citizens before the effective date of the law;

2) when the entity providing accommodation and meals to Ukrainian citizens is an organizational unit, legal entity or entrepreneur – according to the regulation announcement.

The benefit is granted for the period of actually providing accommodation and meals to Ukrainian citizens, not longer than 60 days, and is paid in arrears. In particularly justified cases, the period of payment of the benefit, with the consent of the voivode, may be extended for a period longer than 60 days, it was also stated.

This regulation implements the authorization provided for in the Law on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with an Armed Conflict in the Territory of that State.
