Energy group CEZ checked the security and protective measures of its critical infrastructure last week, especially of major power plants, including nuclear ones, and of distribution networks, and pays special attention to cybersecurity, CEZ’s Petr Suler announced today.
Czechia has two nuclear power plants – four units in Dukovany and two in Temelin. The first unit of the Dukovany power plant is currently shut down, the remaining three are working. Both Temelin units are in operation.
“We are in constant contact with security forces,” said Suler, who heads CEZ’s nuclear communications department.
In the event that Czechia declares a higher level of security threat, CEZ Group companies are ready to respond immediately by convening a crisis team and taking other security measures, Suler said.
The Russian army attacked the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in south-eastern Ukraine last night. The Czech State Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB) said today that all systems and components important for the safety of the plant were operational and no changes in the radiation situation had been observed.
